01 /Our thesis
Demand first.
Capex second.
We don't begin with factories. We begin with what needs to be made.
01 /A reversed equation
Prove the need.
Then build the capacity.
For decades, industrial development often required committing enormous amounts of capital before knowing whether the market would support the capacity. New design, prototyping and distributed manufacturing tools allow us to reverse that equation.
Old model
Capital → Factory → Products → Hope there are customers.
New model
Demand → Design → Prototype → Orders → Production → Capacity.
The opportunity
Africa repeatedly imports, repairs, replaces and improvises around physical needs. Each friction point is a question worth asking.
What can realistically be designed and produced closer to demand? What is worth prototyping? What will customers actually buy? What should be made through partners — and when would dedicated capacity make more sense?
02 /The principle
Intelligence between
demand and production.
We can increasingly prove what deserves to be manufactured before building the factory that manufactures it.
Observe
Find recurring imports, unavailable components and the costs of delay.
Validate
Turn problems into specifications, prototypes and demonstrated demand.
Deploy
Build or acquire capacity only where repeat economics justify it.
A better way to make it
